Chennai South is a parliamentary constituency in TamilNadu state comprising of 6 assembly segments Virugampakkam,Saidapet,Thiyagarayanagar,Mylapore,Velachery,Shozhinganallur. Voters will decide the fate of the candidates contesting in Chennai South, which goes to poll on 19th April 2024 and counting of votes will be held on June 4th . T.Sumathy (A) Thamizhachi Thangapandian from DMK won the parliamentary elections in 2019 with a winning margin of 23.29% . T.Sumathy (A) Thamizhachi Thangapandian defeated Dr.J.Jayavardhan from ADMK . DMK and ADMK polled a vote share of 50.17% and 26.88% respectively. In 2014 Dr. J. Jayavardhan belonging to ADMK won the elections, while in 2009 ,Chennai South constituency choose Rajendran C from ADMK. The voter turnout in 2019 , 2014 and 2009 was 57.07% , 59.66 % and 62.66% repectively.
