Darjeeling is a parliamentary constituency in WestBengal state comprising of 7 assembly segments Kalimpong,Darjeeling,Kurseong,Matigara-Naxalbari,Siliguri,Phansidewa,Chopra. Voters will decide the fate of the candidates contesting in Darjeeling, which goes to poll on 26th April 2024 and counting of votes will be held on June 4th . Raju Bista from BJP won the parliamentary elections in 2019 with a winning margin of 32.62% . Raju Bista defeated Amar Singh Rai from AITC . BJP and AITC polled a vote share of 59.19% and 26.56% respectively. In 2014 S.S.Ahluwalia belonging to BJP won the elections, while in 2009 ,Darjeeling constituency choose Jaswant Singh from BJP. The voter turnout in 2019 , 2014 and 2009 was 78.8% , 79.46 % and 79.51% repectively.
