Dakshina Kannada is a parliamentary constituency in Karnataka state comprising of 8 assembly segments Belthangady,Moodabidri,Mangalore City North,Mangalore City South,Bantval,Puttur,Sullia,Mangalore. Voters will decide the fate of the candidates contesting in Dakshina Kannada, which goes to poll on 26th April 2024 and counting of votes will be held on June 4th . Nalin Kumar Kateel from BJP won the parliamentary elections in 2019 with a winning margin of 20.42% . Nalin Kumar Kateel defeated Mithun M Rai from INC . BJP and INC polled a vote share of 57.57% and 37.15% respectively. In 2014 Nalin Kumar Kateel belonging to BJP won the elections, while in 2009 ,Dakshina Kannada constituency choose Nalin Kumar Kateel from BJP. The voter turnout in 2019 , 2014 and 2009 was 77.99% , 77.14 % and 74.45% repectively.
