Mumbai North East is one of the 48 parliamentary seats in the State of Maharashtra, India. The six Assembly segments that constitute the Lok Sabha constituency are in the Mumbai Suburban district. While the seat was a Congress stronghold from 1967 to 1997, the constituency evolved into a battleground primarily contested between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress. The BJP has secured control of the seat after the 2014 elections. BJP’s Manoj Kotak defeated Sanjay Patil of the Nationalist Congress Party in the 2019 general elections to retain Mumbai North East.
