Bijapur is a parliamentary constituency in Karnataka state comprising of 8 assembly segments Muddebihal,Devar Hippargi,Basavana Bagevadi,Babaleshwar,Bijapur City,Nagthan,Indi,Sindgi. Voters will decide the fate of the candidates contesting in Bijapur, which goes to poll on 07th May 2024 and counting of votes will be held on June 4th . Jigajinagi Ramesh Chandappa from BJP won the parliamentary elections in 2019 with a winning margin of 23.22% . Jigajinagi Ramesh Chandappa defeated Dr. Sunita Devanand Chavan from JD(S) . BJP and JD(S) polled a vote share of 57.22% and 34% respectively. In 2014 Ramesh Jigajinagi belonging to BJP won the elections, while in 2009 ,Bijapur constituency choose Ramesh Chandappa Jigajinagi from BJP. The voter turnout in 2019 , 2014 and 2009 was 61.89% , 59.58 % and 47.29% repectively.
