The AIADMK (Amma) Government led by Edappadi K. Palaniswami will not face any threat as long as it pursues the path charted by former Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, party's “ousted” deputy general secretary, T.T.V. Dhinakaran said in Madurai on Monday.

Addressing the media on the sidelines of MGR birth centenary meeting organised at Melur on Monday, Mr. Dhinakaran refused to comment on how the Mr. Palaniswami-led Government was functioning.

“The Government is there. But, as long as it pursues the path of Jayalalithaa, it will not face any threat,” he said.

Mr. Dhinakaran was critical about the behaviour of some of the Ministers in the State cabinet. “The actions of Ministers, who kept silent when Ms. Jayalalithaa was alive, looks like going unbridled. But, we and the MLAs are in a position to control them,” he said.

“The Ministers will have to correct themselves. Or else, we will force them to behave,” he said.

Denying that the BJP was behind all the drama among the factions of the party, Mr. Dhinakaran said that some of self-centred persons, who wanted to act according to their whims and fancies, were trying to blame others for their behaviour. “They will be soon exposed,” he said.

Mr. Dhinakaran said that Mr. Palaniswami becoming a Chief Minister was accidental and it was possible only because of party general secretary, V.K. Sasikala, appointing him and his cabinet colleagues.

But, they have turned thankless acting against the general secretary herself.

Party MLA, P. Vetrivel, and several former MLAs, including R. Samy, Mahendran, M.V. Karuppaiah, Valarmathi and former MP, J.K. Rithish, were seen in the hotel where Mr. Dhinakaran is staying.
