Software employees and start-ups in Chennai joined the the protesters against the ban on jallikattu.
Old Mahabalipuram Road, Chennai’s IT corridor saw a slew of people joining the stir in support of lifting the ban.
“I go for the protest before my work begins and than go for duty. I come back from work and then join the protest,” S Sankar, who works at a US-based firm at Kandanchavadi.
Navin, a software employee working at OMR, said people at his office were going out to support the protest during break time only.
Archana Stalin of My Harvest said,“Work that can be done over phone we do it from Marina. For meetings we come back to office and than go back to join the protest”.
Those who are on bench and training are taking time during breaks and silently protesting outside office along with friends. Some employees took permission and went, but they came back finished work and went home, according to the HR head at an IT firm.
“I log in early and ensure that I finish my work. After my shift ends, I go and join the work,” said a Cognizant employee.
