Asit Kumar Mal is seeking re-election from Bolpur, a constituency reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates, on a TMC ticket, having been pitted against Priya Saha of BJP and Shyamali Pradhan of CPI(M).In 2019, Bolpur Parliamentary constituency had total 1,70,5073 electors. Total number of valid votes were 1,46,1269. All India Trinamool Congress candidate Asit Kumar Mal won and became MP from this seat, securing a total of 6,99,171 votes. Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Das Ramprasad took the second spot with 5,92,769 votes.
