Two days after she met Tamil Nadu Governor and staked claim to form the government, the AIADMK interim General Secretary V.K. Sasikala on Saturday wrote to S. Vidyasagar Rao, seeking an appointment with him.

"I have previously submitted letters on 05.02.2017 and 07.02.2017 seeking an esteemed appointment of your Excellency to meet and hand over personally the letter regarding the AIADMK Legislature Party electing me as their leader along with a resolution passed in the AIADMK Party Legislator's meeting held on 05.02.2017," Ms. Sasikala wrote.

Elaborating that she has the absolute majority, Ms. Sasikala wrote, "taking the urgency of the situation at hand, I would like to seek an appointment with Your Excellency by today along with all MLAs who extended their support to me regarding further course of action to form the Government."

"I believe Your Excellency will act immediately to save the Sovereignty of the Constitution, democracy and the interest of the State," she further wrote.
