The National Investigation Agency on Tuesday obtained 14 days’ custody of Mohammed Naved, who was arrested following a terror attack on a Border Security Force convoy last week.

Naved was produced before a Jammu court. “If necessary, he will be confronted with several suspects who are being questioned at different places in the State,” said an official.

NIA Director-General Sharad Kumar will be in Jammu on Wednesday to supervise the investigations. Apart from interrogating Naved, he will visit the encounter site in Udhampur where two BSF personnel were martyred and a terrorist was killed.

The agency, in coordination with the State police, has launched a hunt for over half-a-dozen people who are believed to have given logistical support to Naved and his accomplices.

During interrogation, the accused disclosed that he along with three others had crossed over to Jammu and Kashmir through the Line of Control on June 2.
