In this session, journalist Ronya Othmann and researcher Katharina Gorgen explore themes related to home, exile and the memories associated with it.

Munich-born writer and journalist Ronya Othmann is acclaimed for her poetry and novels. She has received many awards for her writing, including the Open Mike Poetry Prize, the MDR Literature Prize and the Caroline Schlegel Prize for Essay Writing.

Katharina Gorgen, Director of Goethe-Institut Chennai, is a multilingual scholar and cultural leader.  She has worked as a Lecturer and Research Associate at the Institute for Media Culture and Theater at the University of Cologne. As Director of Goethe-Institut Chennai, she has worked in several projects that showcase the local history.
