ChatGPT clears multiple exams

The Research release version of the AI-powered chatbot, ChatGPT, passed several examinations, including law exams from the University of Minnesota courses, parts of the U.S. Medical Licensing exams, and an exam from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.

While the chatbot has passed these exams, it did not necessarily do so with flying colours and at times required human prompts in order to successfully execute the tasks.

Guidus Android app’s data leak

A popular Android mobile role-playing game (RPG), Guidus, leaked data of some 100,000 users. The leak which included user game progress happened through unsecured access to Firebase, Google’s mobile application development platform which provides cloud-based database services.

Developers of the app had also left keys hardcoded into the user side which could allow cybercriminals to access sensitive data which could be used to target victims.

U.S. lawsuit against Google could benefit rivals

A lawsuit by the U.S. Justice Department against Alphabet’s Google over its dominance of advertising technology could help rivals and websites that sell ad space, leaving advertisers with an uncertain future. The complaint against Google called for the company to divest Google Ad Manager, a suite of tools including one that lets websites put ad space up for a sale and another that served as an ad marketplace that automatically matched advertisers with those publishers. The move could benefit rivals like Apple Inc., which is steadily growing its nascent advertising business.
