Hindutva is a cultural and civilisational ideology and everybody living in India should consider himself a Hindu, said RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat at a function here on Sunday.
Addressing RSS workers, Mr. Bhagwat said the country could only be unified though Hindutva. He said that Rashtriya Swaysewak Sangh had always worked for the interests of India.
He emphasised on the need to bring about “uniformity” in the country and the role of Hindutva in achieving that purpose. “ Ek bhasha, ek devta, ek sampraday banana hoga ( We need to ensure one language, one God and one religion),” he said elaborating on his larger point that “for unity we need uniformity”. Calling upon every Hindu of the country to strengthen Hindutva, he said there was no doubt that India was a Hindu Rashtra.
Without referring to the BJP government at the Centre, Mr. Bhagwat considered the present times as “positive” for Hindutva and the RSS. He didn’t comment on the prediction of the exit polls about the “bad” performance of the BJP in the Delhi elections.
