The Ponda police in Central Goa on Monday registered a first information report(FIR) against one Savio Almeida for latter’s facebook post which morphed photo of a Goa Minister for Public Works Ramkrishna alias Sudin Dhavlikar in a pink swimsuit.

The Minister featured in the picture had recently been in the controversy after his public statements against pub culture and had also stated on electronic news channels that bikinis should be banned on Goa's beaches.

After the photo, which was posted on Facebook last week, had gone viral, Mr. Pradeep Damodar Bakhale, Ponda had lodged a complaint against the facebook post.

“The case has been handed over to Cyber Crime Cell in north Goa for investigation”, Inspector C. L. Patil, in-charge of Ponda police station told The Hindu on Wednesday.

As the issue stirred up a major controversy, Goa Congress organizing Secretary Durgadas Kamat had sent a short pink skirt to the Minister.

When asked if the accused was a resident of Goa or an NRI, Mr. Patil said that it will be probed by cyber Cell.
