Four days after Bulandshahr gang rape, police is yet to arrest the gang leader Saleem Bawariya and others behind the incident. Police accepted that seven criminals were allegedly involved in the crime, but have been able to arrest only three so far.
Anees Ahmad Ansari, the Senior Superintendent of Police of Bulandshahr, told The Hindu that several teams of police are raiding possible hideouts of the criminals. The three members of the gang arrested so far are Shavez, Raisuddin and Jabar Singh.
Mr. Ansari said that police has “substantially improved” local policing and patrolling on NH-91.
“There is a 360 degree improvement in policing and highway patrolling. We want to ensure that people can use the highway without any fear. Besides, the investigation is also proceeding at a fast pace. Our teams have made several raids across three states to nab the gang members and its leader who is responsible for this incident,” said Mr. Ansari. He also said that two more lines of ‘100’ have been established in the area to facilitate quicker public access to the police.
