A day before Teesta Setalvad’s anticipatory bail plea in the alleged Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) violation case comes up for hearing at a sessions court here, the social activist was called by the CBI for questioning at its regional office here on Monday.

Along with Ms. Setalvad her husband Javed Anand, who has been named by the agency in the case, was also questioned.

This is the third time in the past three days that the couple was called to the CBI office, said her colleagues. Coming out of the CBI office after the questioning session which lasted nearly two hours, Ms. Setalvad refused to speak to the media.
