Patna Pirates cruised to a 33-24 victory over Bengaluru Bulls on the opening day of the Bengaluru leg of the ProKabaddi League (PKL) here on Wednesday.

It was a disappointing outing for the home fans, as Pirates seized the initiative and kept up the pressure until the end of the encounter.

The two sides, however, were evenly matched in the early minutes.

At 7-7, the visitors switched gears. A superb tackle started the Pirates’ roll, and before long, the home team was relegated to a lona.

Bulls fell 8-17 behind as a result of the all-out, and minutes later, the interval arrived with Pirates holding a commanding 20-10 lead.

Pirates werewell served by a strong defence, which contributed 11 points. Sandeep Narwal (5 points), in particular, held firm in the face of raids. The Bulls antis, on the other hand, could only manage five points.

On the offensive end, Bulls’ Amit Rathi stood out with 10 points, but it was not enough to prevent his team from falling to defeat.

Pirates, meanwhile, recorded a second straight win.

The result: Patna Pirates 33 (Rohit Kumar 8, Sandeep Narwal 5, Rajesh Mondal 5) bt Bengaluru Bulls 24 (Amit Rathi 10).
