The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said it was investigating chief selector Moin Khan’s visit to a casino before the team’s 150-run Cricket World Cup Pool B loss against the West Indies in Christchurch last week.

PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan said it was “inappropriate Moin visited a casino when the team was not doing well” and he has sought an explanation from the selector.

Shaharyar said Moin told him he went to casino for dinner two days before the match against the West Indies on Saturday, but the PCB chairman said he will gather all available facts before reaching a decision on possible sanctions.

The Pakistan team has come under severe criticism from former Pakistan test cricketers after two heavy defeats and faces questions regarding the team’s World Cup line-up.
