England, South Africa post wins

England and South Africa registered wins in Group A of the ICC Women’s World T20 here on Monday. While England beat Bangladesh by seven wickets under the D/L method, South Africa got the better of Sri Lanka.

The scores: Sri Lanka 99 for eight in 20 overs (Shabnim Ismail three for 10) lost to South Africa 102 for three in 18.3 overs (Marizanne Kapp 38, Dane van Niekerk 33 n.o.).

Bangladesh 76 for nine in 20 overs (Ayasha Rahman 39, Kirstie Gordon three for 16) lost to England 64 for three in 9.3 overs (Amy Jones 28 n.o., Salma Khatun two for 17) by D/L method .
