B. Aparajith's unbeaten 113 ensured Tamil Nadu gained the first innings lead, and with it, three points against Andhra on the final day of the Cooch Behar Trophy (under-19) Elite ‘C' match, here on Sunday.
Along with K. Bharath Shankar (88, 10x4, 2x6), Aparajith put on 214 runs for the first wicket.
The match was called off after Bharath Shankar's dismissal (run-out).
Sabarish scalps six
Meanwhile at Hyderabad, the home team's medium-pacer K. Sabarish's six for 66 was the highlight of the final day's play it drew its match against Punjab. He finished with 10 wickets in the game.
Bengal beats Tripura
At Kalyani, Bengal trounced Tripura by an innings and 78 runs. N. Debnath (117) and M. Mora Singh (123) played well for Tripura.
The Elite Group B match between Jharkhand and Kerala ended in a draw at Ranchi without a ball being bowled on the final day owing to rain. The two points helped Jharkhand tie with Delhi on four points. The former, which had a better quotient (0.81) than Delhi (0.53), will remain in the Elite division while Delhi will be demoted.
