India beat England by seven wickets in the third One-Day International at the ACA-VDCA Stadium here on Wednesday to go 2-1 up in the five-match series.
England, put in, was shot out for 130 with medium-pacer Rumeli Dhar claiming four wickets on a wicket that assisted seam bowling.
The fielders provided excellent support as things started falling in place for the home team. Rumeli removed the openers by the eighth over and after Jhulan Goswami scalped Jennifer Gunn left-arm spinner Preeti Dimri removed captain Charlotte Edwards and Lydia Greenway.
Morgan (24) and Laura Marsh (22) tried to save the visitors but fell while trying to free their arms.
In reply, Anjum Chopra (61 not out) and Punam G. Rout (44) displayed resolute batting to tackle England that tried well to defend a small total. Their 97-run opening stand put the team on course for victory. India regained the lead after England had won the second match at Bangalore.
The player of the match was not announced. The organisers revealed that the BCCI did not send the prizes to be given to the player of the match and hoped they would arrive for the next match on Friday.
