14:05 : Fidel Edwards of West Indies comes for auction at $100,000. And like Shivnaraine Chanderpaul he also goes unsold.

Next player is V.R.V. Singh of India at a base price of $100,000. And interestingly there were no takers, he goes unsold.

Again a West Indian comes for sale and it is Jerome Taylor for a base price of $100,000. Team Pune opens the bidding

13:59: Andre Nel of South Africa goes on sale for $50,000 and goes unsold

Interestingly fierce bidding between Rajasthan Royals and Pune Team. Rajasthan Royals takes him for $95,000

13:55: Pankaj Singh of India goes on sale at a base price of $50,000.

13:55 : Chris Tremlett of England goes on sale for $100,000. He proved his worth during the recent Ashes series and it is surprising that there were no takers.

13:55: Ryan Sidebottom of England goes on sale at a base price of $200,000 and he also goes unsold.

13:54: Now Ntini goes on sale for a base price of $100,000 and he also goes unsold

13:53 :Tsotsobe of South Africa goes on sale. He proved his worth during the Test series against India. and it is surprising that he also goes unsold.

13:52: Again a Sri Lankan player in auction and it is Welegedara at a base price of $50,000 and goes unsold.

13:51: Kulatunga of Sri lanka goes on sale for a base price of $50,000 and again goes unsold.

We have a bit of a break in the auctions now. Some hectic stuff in the first session, but just a few players actually sold in this session. Most of the players going unsold, the teams being careful with their money.

11:49: England's favourite spinner Monty Panesar has no bids.

11:47: 500,000 for Balaji, sold to Kolkata. Chennai seemed hell bent on getting their fast bowler, but dropped out once the price rose to 500,000.

11:46: Laxmipathy Balaji now at 450,000. Chennai ups it to 475,000

11:44: Fast bowler Clint Mackay goes to Mumbai for 110,000. Handshakes all round in the Mumbai camp. They seem really happy with this buy.

11:41: Umesh Yadav sold for a whopping 750,000. That is a huge sum for the youngster. I'm sure he will be following this in South Africa, where he is part of the Indian squad.

11:39: Frantic bidding for pacer Umesh Yadav.

11:37: Shaun Tait gets just one bid. 300,000 to Rajasthan Royals. He deserved more bids than just the one.

11:35: Looks like Delhi wanted Munaf Patel at all costs, but Mumbai steal him for 700,000

11:31: 375,000 for Dinda to Delhi. Slightly inflated price I think. But I'm not the one with the money.

11:27: 475,000 now for Vinay Kumar. Kochi and Bangalore in a war for Vinay Kumar but Vijay Mallya gives up the bid. Kochi gets Vinay Kumar for 475,000.

11:24: Langevedlt sold for 140,000 to Bangalore. This is a good buy, good value for money.

11:19: Wow this is quite something. No one wants Mascarenhas. The teams reluctant to buy, they are obviously have some targetted buys on mind.

11:15: Dan Christian sold! 900,000 to Deccan Chargers. The teams went all out for him.

11:13: Delhi the new entrant, price rises to 900,000. DC looks ultra keen to get him.

Day two promises to be as exciting as yesterday. The 'smaller' buys are on offer today. Players like Manpreet Gony, and Karnataka pacer Vinay Kumar. Teams will look at value buys today.

Hi folks, good morning everyone. Welcome to the second day of the >IPL season IV auction. On Day one we saw >Gautam Gambhir leading the stakes with $2.4 million followed by Indian players Yusuf Pathan, Irfan Pathan, Rohit Sharma, Robin Uthappa, Yuvraj Singh and Saurabh Tiwary. In fact, Day one pretty much belonged to Indian players.

There were also surprises on Day one with former Indian captain Saurav Ganguly, West Indian captain Chris Gayle and former West Indies captain Brian Lara going unsold.
