DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin on Friday expressed confidence that he would retain the Kolathur Assembly constituency by an impressive margin.

Addressing an election rally here on Friday evening, where he sought a mandate in favour of the DMK nominee for the Kancheepuram Assembly constituency, C.V.M.P. Ezhilarasan, the DMK treasurer said “I am confident of getting re-elected to the Legislative Assembly by a thumping margin from Kolathur because I am close to the people of my constituency.” Stating that the regular grievance meetings he had conducted there had earned him the goodwill of the people, Mr. Stalin said that by meeting the people frequently, he had gotten to know of their problems and offer solutions too.

“As I am confident of victory, I have allocated just two days for campaigning in my constituency,” he added. He also told the audience that all DMK MLAs would mingle with the people in their constituency as he had in Kolathur.

Referring to Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, he said: “She claims that she not only did what she had promised earlier but also executed what she had not stated. The opening of Tasmac outlets in almost all streets and the opening of Chembarambakkam lake defying the expectations of the people are some of the things that were not mentioned by her earlier,” he charged.
