Fans of Rajinikanth offered prayers at various temples here on Sunday, invoking the blessings of the Almighty for speedy recovery of the actor, who has been in hospital.

At the Sri Raghavendra temple in Srirangam, devotees pulled the silver chariot and performed special ‘puja' seeking the blessings of the deity. A group of 20 fans carrying fire pots marched down from Sri Muneeswaran Temple to Sri Murugan Temple near the Rajagopuram in Srirangam and offered their prayers.

S. Karnan, district president of Rajini Mandram, who led the procession, said that the special puja and prayers were offered in accordance with the wishes of the fans. He said that the news that Mr. Rajinikanth was not doing well had caused agony and anxiety to his fans. He expressed confidence that the actor would regain his health soon.
