Rajinikanth shifted to ICU

Actor Rajinikanth, undergoing treatment at the Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre here, was shifted to the intensive care unit on Wednesday to improve his breathing pattern, according to hospital sources.

The actor, who was admitted to the hospital on May 13 for significant respiratory and gastro-intestinal problems, is showing positive response to the treatment.

A multidisciplinary team is closely watching his vital parameters to assess benefits from multi-pronged treatment strategies. Doctors say he is responding well to the treatment, according to a hospital release.
