Uncertainty dogs Congress in Himachal

Published - October 21, 2017 10:13 pm IST -

With just a day left for the filing of nominations for the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections, the Congress is yet to decide its candidates for at least nine of the 68 constituencies, including Shimla Rural, where Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh’s son Vikram Aditya has filed his papers. The party high command has also not cleared the candidature of the children of some other senior Congress leaders as there is a strong opposition to the dynastic trends within the party.

The party is facing rebellion against official candidates in some seats.

There are also reports of some rebels in the BJP getting ready to contest against party nominees.
