Nitish govt. flayed after party leader is shot dead

At a time when confusion continued over whether the Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) would remain a constituent of the NDA in Bihar or not, a local party leader was gunned down near Patna on Tuesday. RLSP block president of Paliganj in Patna district, Amit Bhushan Verma alias Tuktuk, 35, was gunned down while he was participating in the Chhath festival.

RLSP chief Upendra Kushwaha on Wednesday visited the family members and later slammed the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government’s “good governance” claim in a tweet.

Mr. Kushwaha has been disgruntled over seat-sharing among NDA constituents. “Out of a total 40 Parliamentary seats in Bihar the BJP and JD(U) are now likely to contest in 17 seats each while, another constituent Lok Janshakti Party would get six seats”, a senior State BJP leader told The Hindu , though an official announcement is yet to be made.
