On a day when separatist leader Masarat Alam was arrested allegedly for waving a Pakistani flag, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party for ‘compromising on’ the party’s ideology for staying in power in Jammu and Kashmir.
Mr. Kumar told journalists on Friday that the BJP would ‘go to any extent to grab power.’
“The BJP is greedy for power, making all sorts of compromises to remain in power. Whatever is happening in Jammu and Kashmir has exposed the BJP’s agenda,” he alleged.
Asked about the Pakistani flag incident, Mr. Kumar said: “The party is in power there and running the government but what has not happened earlier in Jammu and Kashmir is now happening.”
“These days new records are being made there,” Mr. Kumar said, referring to the anti-national activities taking place in the State. “The BJP should answer for that when it’s in power in the State.”
Mr. Kumar also wondered “where the BJP’s ideology of patriotism and nationalism had gone.”
