Panel to probe Mubarak Mandi fire incident

The Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday proposed a probe by a House Committee of the Legislative Council into the 2009 Mubarak Mandi fire incident.

The matter was raised during Question Hour when Minister for Youth Services and Sports Imran Ansari was replying to a question of Congress legislator Rani Gargi Blowria.

Conspiracy alleged

Ruling BJP and PDP legislators accused the then National Conference-Congress government of hatching a conspiracy as regards the fire incident on February 9, 2009 at the heritage Mubarak Mandi complex which formerly served as the Secretariat of Dogra ruler Maharaja Hari Singh. - PTI
