The Coast Guard rescued 28 mariners on board a flooded m.v. Khalijia off the Mumbai coast in a late-night operation on rough high seas on Sunday. Six of them are foreigners.
The Coast Guard's fast patrol ship, “Subhadra Kumari Chauhan,” was pressed into action soon after receiving a distress call from the company that owns the vessel.
The ship, which had come from China, was fully laden with steel coils. It is now berthed at the inner anchorage of the Mumbai Port Trust.
