Industries Minister E.P. Jayarajan has said that the government is with the victim (who has raised allegations of sexual exploitation against Jalandhar Bishop Franco Mulakkal).
Replying to questions at a news conference here on Wednesday, Mr. Jayarajan said the police investigation in the case was on track. “The nuns’ agitation is painful. The government is with the victims, with the nuns. The government views their demands very seriously and will take the most appropriate stand. The police have their own method of investigation. They must collect all the evidences to ensure that there is a fool-proof case and no guilty person escapes punishment. You need not worry. The police investigation is proceeding in the right direction,” Mr. Jayarajan said.
On the allegation against CPI(M) Shoranur MLA P.K. Sasi, he said the complaint that had been handed over to the CPI(M) State secretary could not be treated as a complaint given to the police. “A complaint meant for the police should be given to the police, and a complaint meant for the Chief Minister should be handed over to the Chief Minister. The complaint given to the party secretary will be handled in accordance with the party’s procedures,” Mr. Jayarajan said.
