Activist Surendra Gadling’s wife, Meenal, moved the Supreme Court on Friday seeking bail for her husband and four other activists.

Mr. Gadling, along with Dr. Soma Sen, Mahesh Raut, Rona Wilson and Sudhir Dhavale were arrested by the Pune police in June in connection with the Bhima-Koregaon violence. The petition said the activists arrested were working in different fields and the government was trying to stifle their voices.
