The security of family Akhil Gupta, a slain witness in a case against self-styled ‘godman’ Asaram, has been increased following an attack on another key witness in Panipat.

The security of deceased Akhil Gupta’s family has been tightened here after the attack on a witness in Panipat, Nayi Mandi SHO Arun Singh said on Thursday.

Gupta, a prime witness in a rape case against Asaram, was shot dead on January 11, 2015 by unidentified assailants.

Meanwhile, Naresh Gupta, the deceased’s father, has alleged that they are living under constant fear as police has failed to arrest the accused in his son’s murder case even four months after his son’s killing.

Unidentified assailants on Wednesday shot at Mahendra Chawla, a key witness, in the rape case against Narayan Sai, son of Asaram, in Haryana’s Panipat district.
