Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd-run Skill Development Institute has launched a new extension centre at Bhogapuram in Vizianagaram, about 40 km from here, to exclusively conduct overseas job-oriented courses.

To mark the occasion, a canvassing van was flagged-off by Visakhapatnam MP K. Haribabu at Arilova campus here on Monday to take the information to the rural areas for promoting awareness on job availability through skill development among unemployed youth.

Now, the Skill Development Institute came out with free training programme for overseas job-oriented courses like fitter and welder, for which MoU was signed with Vanitha’s Skill Development Providers to start a centre at Bhogapuram.

The centre will cater to over 300 trainees at any point of time.

The MP said that under Prime Minister’s Skill India campaign, eight public sector oil companies under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas had started skill development training institutes at six places and Visakhapatnam was the biggest one offering 27 courses at its main campus and running extension centres at S. Kota and Kommadi.

Land acquisition

Mr. Haribabu informed that the site acquisition for Skill University was under progress and once it becomes functional, more market-centric need-based courses like driving could be started.

CEO of Symbiosys Technologies O. Naresh Kumar advised youth to grab the opportunities by undergoing skill development courses being offered free of cost and get good jobs.

Mr. Haribabu later told reporters that Vanitha’s Skill Development Providers had authorisation from the Ministry of External Affairs and joining hands with the government-run public sector organisation like Skill Development Institute would eliminate apprehensions and fears of getting cheated by mediators.

Vanitha’s Skill Development Providers CEO Janardhan informed that eligible 10th or Inter pass candidates in the age group of 18 to 28 years could register by dialling 9290895161 or 8985883388.
