A Delhi court on Monday extended the police remand of JNU Students’ Union president Kanhaiya Kumar for two days in the sedition case.

The Delhi Police produced Kanhaiya at the South District DCP office at Hauz Khas late in the evening instead of the Patiala House courts as the premises witnessed violence before his scheduled production before the Metropolitan Magistrate Loveleen earlier in the day. The Magistrate visited the DCP office to conduct the proceeding and later extended his custody for two days, a source in the Delhi Police said.
