March 29, 2016 01:59 am | Updated October 18, 2016 02:14 pm IST - NEW DELHI:

The BJP is ready to try any option in Uttarakhand, where President’s Rule was imposed on Sunday, BJP national general secretary in charge of the State, Kailash Vijayvargiya, has said.

“If the Governor [K.K. Paul] invites us to form a government, we are ready to do so. We are also ready to face fresh polls,” he said on Monday. The Assembly has been placed under suspended animation.

The BJP has 28 MLAs in the Assembly which has a total strength of 70 (plus one nominated member). One BJP MLA, Bhimlal Arya, is estranged from the party and this may put the party’s effective strength at 27.
