Awaiting probe report: Krishna

External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna said here on Sunday that it would not be prudent to be judgemental about the perpetrators of the Pune blast before investigation agencies concluded their probe.

Asked by reporters whether the incident would have a bearing on the proposed Foreign Secretary-level talks with Pakistan later this month, he said the National Investigation Agency and forensic experts were investigating and “until we get their report it would not be prudent to be judgemental.”

Mr. Krishna said it was sad that so many innocent lives were lost in terror incidents. “Terrorism does not bring nations together; it only puts them at loggerheads.”

On Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi’s demand that the promised devolution of powers to Sri Lankan Tamils be implemented, he said India expected President Mahinda Rajapaksa to implement his assurances through a political process.
