‘Language is important in handling patients’

Jipmer hosts the one-day official language technical seminar

The Regional Implementation Office (South & South-West), Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, hosted a one-day Official Language Technical Seminar at the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (Jipmer) here on Friday.

The objective of the seminar was to enlighten the participants about the effective use of technology in the implementation of the official language.

Prabhas Kumar Jha, Secretary, Department of Official Language, who inaugurated the seminar, said that Hindi was a language which was spoken by the largest number of people in India.

S.C. Parija, Director, Jipmer, spoke on how language was becoming important in a clinical setting in handling patients who came from different parts of the country.

During the seminar, various information technology tools being used for Hindi were explained in detail. Best practices being followed by various organisations were shared by the participants.

Various new measures, information technology tools, or initiatives taken by Raj Bhasha Vibhag for implementation of the Official Language were discussed.
