An 11-month-old boy was allegedly kidnapped by a couple from a house in Sunkadakatte on Friday.

The alleged crime came to light when Kumar G., father of the boy, returned home from work in the evening. He works as a supervisor in a private company. He saw his wife sleeping while the baby was missing. His elder daughter was playing at home.

He woke up his wife. She informed that their common friend, John, had visited around 11 a.m. and offered her diet tablets to slim down. John allegedly forced her to take a tablet, following which she fell unconscious.

The Kamakshipalya police have registered a case and are trying to track down John.

Kumar accused John of kidnapping his child over a personal row, the police said.
