High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad on Tuesday granted conditional bail to TDP MLA A. Revanth Reddy and two others, accused in the Cash for Vote case.

Justice Raja Elango granted conditional bail after hearing the arguments of Advocate General Ramakrishna Reddy and the counsel for Mr. Reddy, Harry Sebastian and Udayasimha.

According to the orders, Mr. Reddy cannot move out of Kodangal Assembly Constituency, which he represented in the Telangana Assembly. The three accused in the cash for vote case were asked to furnish a surety of Rs. 5 lakh each and surrender their passports. They were advised not to indulge in acts that could deter the ongoing investigation into the case by the Anti-Corruption Bureau.

The ACB Court on Monday had extended his remand till July 13 on the grounds that the investigation into the case had not been completed.

It may be mentioned here that Mr. Reddy was caught by the Telangana ACB sleuths on May 31on the charge of trying to bribe a nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson a day before the election to fill six vacancies in the Telangana Legislative Council.

Video footage telecast on regional television channels showed Mr. Reddy and his associates trying to pay Rs. 50 lakh as advance to the nominated MLA for extending support to the TDP candidate Vem Narender Reddy.

Mr. Reddy is likely to be released this evening from Charlapally Central Prison in Hyderabad.

Meanwhile, the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau is making efforts to file a petition in Supreme Court opposing the bail granted by the High Court here. The MLA's wife, talking to mediapersons, said that Mr. Revanth Reddy would abide by the court's order and it would be good for him also be closer to the people from his constituency if he is in Kodangal.
