Telangana TDP MLA A. Revanth Reddy was grilled nearly for two hours by ACB officials at their office in Banjara Hills on Saturday in the cash for vote case. He was later shifted to the office of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Hyderabad Detective Department in Himayathnagar.
The special court for ACB and SPE cases had given the MLA and two other accused, Harry Sebastian and Rudra Uday Simha, to four-day custody to ACB officials for further investigation in the case on Friday.
ACB officials remained tight-lipped about the interrogation. Lawyers of the accused too declined to divulge details about the questions the investigators posed, but said the “ACB officials didn’t harass anyone and were co-operative”.
“It was done in a cordial atmosphere and Revanth was comfortable,” said the counsel for Mr. Reddy. Sources in ACB, however, said the investigators strategically brought the other two accused from Charlapally central prison to their office first.
“It was an air-conditioned room and Sebastian was made to sit in a chair. There was a camera in the room apparently to record the conversation. For some reason, they shifted us to another room later,” said his lawyer Rakesh Singh in whose presence the ACB officers questioned him.
