Telangana Telugu Desam Party MLA A. Revanth Reddy and two others, who were granted conditional bail by the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad on Tuesday, were released from Charlapally central prison here at around 5.30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Mild tension prevailed outside the prison as the activists of the TDP and supporters of the legislator picked up an argument with the police who prevented them from going closer to the prison gate. After the MLA's release he was taken in a massive procession by his supporters from the main gate of the jail.

The Police announced that prohibitory orders - not allowing assembly of more than four persons - were in force at the prison but large number of the legislator’s followers and party activists continued to assemble there.

While police cordoned off the road leading to the prison main gate, the TDP workers tried to surge forward creating tense moments. Release of the MLA got delayed though the bail order was issued by the High Court on Tuesday as the order stated that the sureties should be furnished in ACB ‘PS’ instead of ACB Court.

Actually, it should have been ACB court. The MLA’s lawyers filed a memo in the High Court on Wednesday morning seeking modification of the word. After the modified order was issued, they presented the same in the special court for ACB and SPE cases at Purani Haveli in Old City.

The legislator’s sibling Krishna Reddy furnished three sureties, each of Rs. 5 lakh. After collecting the release order issued by the ACB Court, the lawyers presented the same to prison authorities by 4.30 p.m.
