Ajay Bisaria is a former diplomat. He joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1987 and he dealt with some of India’s key economic and security relationships in this three-decade-long career. He served as the Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan from 2017 to 2020, and previously held positions in Canada, Poland, Lithuania, and the Prime Minister’s Office during Prime Minister Vajpayee’s tenure. Currently, he is a Distinguished Fellow at the Observer Research Foundation. Recently, he authored a book describing the complex diplomatic relationship between India and Pakistan.

Varghese K. George is a Resident Editor at The Hindu and is based in New Delhi, He is an award-winning journalist, covering Indian and U.S. politics. He writtes extensively on politics, political economy, and the foreign policy of India and the U.S., particularly the rise of nationalism in both countries in recent years. In his book, Open Embrace, he analyses how hyper-nationalism influences India-U.S. relations, drawing from his extensive reporting experience and academic background in Modern Indian History and International Relations. His notable awards include Ramnath Goenka Journalist of the Year and Transparency International Award for fighting corruption.
