Can it get any better than getting to guzzle some freshly brewed beer — the most desired type of beer at the moment in Hyderabad. There are many reason behind the high demand but the most significant being it comes sans any preservative or chemicals. The reason that makes tasting beer from a microbrewery special is the method that goes into it. Apart from the freshness, its ‘no glycerine’ factor makes everyone prefer a drink at the microbrewery.

So, we headed to Over the Moon brew company at Gachibowli. Before going into details about the beer and the menu, the one pre-plated selection that shouldn’t be missed here is the rajma-chawal. Only a few places get this right and OTM brew company aced it with an alluring gravy and awesomely cooked rajma beans.

To do justice to the name, go with good company to make the best of the ambience, food and the drinks. Over the moon (OTM) brew company is an extension of the OTM microbrewery at Madhapur. The concept of the place isn’t about just selling beer and finger foods. It is a place where beer lovers and food lovers can opt for their choice of a hangout spot. Usually beer bars don’t come across as a ‘family’ friendly places. OTM rules out such inhibitions with their two dedicated floors with separate access. This allows patrons to select their choice of ambience and dining.

Defying the thumb rule of a beer joint being a place suited only to hangout to drink, OTM brew company’s open ambience on the ground floor also looks good to enjoy a cup of coffee. And when the mood is set for some chatpata Indian street food, a food truck stationed in the evening meets those demands.

Naturally lit, the raw look of the furniture here adds to the tastefully done decor.

Nothing here seems out of place, not even the large decanters with coloured water to add colour to an otherwise insipid bar.

OTM brew company might not be an in your face beer bar, but it definitely has some of the best fresh brews. The ales here are good and so are the stouts. Throwing light on the technicalities of brewing and the use of water, Sanjay Batla says, “With RO and DM methods of treating water, the TDS and hardness level has to be brought below 10 and the ph level maintained at 7.”

If you are not in the mood for beer, ask for their fresh fruit juice cocktails.

Apart from the set menu on the ground floor that serves beer, there is a lunch buffet on the first floor. Ideal for those who love to enjoy their food sans alcohol. The a la carte menu is a mix of all cuisines and has a good selection of starters. The kebabs here are good for an anytime bite for meat lovers. The food here doesn’t disappoint any food lover.
