K. Chandrashekar Rao, TRS

Leading in Gajwel

Telangana Rashtra Samiti president and caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is maintaining a strong lead in his home constituency. He is set to take power for the second time as TRS has put up a strong performance this time round.

N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, INC

Leading in Huzurnagar

Congress leader and prospective CM candidate Uttam Kumar Reddy is leading in Huzurnagar constituency. He is one of the senior members of the party. He is a former fighter pilot in the Indian Air Force. As a politician, he had played a pivotal role in representing Telangana’s interests with the then-UPA government, helping secure statehood for it.

Suhasini Nandamuri

Defeated in Kukatpally

First-time candidate Suhasini Nandamuri lost to TRS veteran M. Krishna Rao in Kukatpally, which has a sizable population of electorate hailing from Andhra Pradesh. Mr. Rao bagged 111612 votes as opposed to Ms Suhasini's 70,563. She is the daughter of actor-turned-politician Nandamuri Harikrishna’s and grand-daughter of TDP founder N.T. Rama Rao. She is the second member from the Nandamuri clan to contest the Assembly from Telangana.

K.T. Rama Rao, TRS

KT Rama Rao beat Karuna Mahender Reddy of INC with a massive margin of 89,000 votes. KCR’s second-in-command, he current IT Minister, improved on his paltry 170-vote victory in the previous election. As his lead widened, he took to Twitter to thank the voters. “Grateful, indebted & Humbled,” he wrote on the micro-blogging site. “Thanks Telangana for keeping the faith in KCR Garu & giving us another opportunity to serve you.”

Akbaruddin Owaisi, AIMIM

Leading in Chandrayangutta

Four-time MLA Owaisi has maintained a strong lead of over 60,000 votes in Chandrayangutta, which has traditionally been a Muslim stronghold. His performance comes as no surprise as he has been representing the constituency since 1999.

Trailing in Kodangal

The Telangana Congress leader and possible CM candidate is trailing behind TRS candidate P. Narender Reddy. Revanth had won the last election from the same constituency on TDP’s ticket. He joined Congress in 2017.
