Releasing its final list of 19 names for the Chhattisgarh Assembly election, the Congress on Thursday fielded Lok Sabha member Tamradhwaj Sahu from Durg rural constituency.

With this list, Congress had named it’s nominees for all the 90 seats. Renu Jogi, wife of former Congress Chief Minister Ajit Jogi who represented the Kota constituency, has been dropped and replaced by Vibhor Singh. Party MLA Gurmukh Singh Hora and singer Mamta Chandrakar also figure in the list. Mr. Sahu, who heads the OBC department of the Congress, is a significant inclusion. Along with Pradesh Congress Committee Bhupesh Baghel, Mr Sahu is a potential chief ministerial face of the party.
