Trinamool MP quizzed in Saradha scam

Published - July 04, 2015 01:27 am IST - Kolkata:

Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP Ahmed Hassan Imran was on Friday interrogated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the multi-crore Saradha scam.

Only a day ago the CBI questioned Shyamapada Mukherjee, Textile Minister, who like Mr. Imran had entered into business dealing with Saradha group chairperson Sudipta Sen.

After the interrogation, Mr. Hassan said the CBI did not even summon him and but called his counsel.

“I came here voluntarily. The CBI asked for some documents regarding Kolom (a Bengali newspaper) which we provided,” he told media persons.

He also claimed that the CBI just wanted some clarifications.

Mr. Hasan was in the past interrogated by the Enforcement Directorate(ED) that was also probing the Saradha scam in August last year.
