Taxi collides with load carrier in J&K, 5 killed

Five persons were on Monday killed and four others injured when a taxi collided head-on with a load carrier in Sopore township of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, police said.

“Five persons were killed and four others got injured when the taxi SUV collided with a load carrier in Tarzoo area of Sopore,” a traffic police spokesman said in Srinagar.

He said the accident took place on the Srinagar-Baramulla highway and the vehicle was on its way from Kupwara district to Srinagar.

The injured have been referred to a hospital, the spokesman said.
