Anand Kumar, founder of Super 30 institute, which provides free residential coaching to students from underprivileged families for IIT-JEE exams, has found a place in the People magazine as the ‘People’s Hero’.

People magazine in its latest Indian edition issue carries a detailed feature on Mr. Anand, listing him as a “People’s Hero,” a release said.

This is a rare occasion as the magazine, which usually profiles celebrities from films and other fields, has chosen a person who is a teacher by profession.

“Anand has done it on his own, which is remarkable,” the magazine has said.

“It feels great to find a place in People. It will inspire me to work even harder. I am not a celebrity. I am just an ordinary man, but it is a great gesture from the magazine to find me good enough for this honour,” the release quoted Mr. Anand as saying.

“This is a recognition of the students, my teachers and family members, as without them it would not have been possible,” he added.

Time magazine had described Super 30 as the “best of Asia,” while Newsweek put it in the category of world’s four innovative schools.

Congratulation's to People's magazine for recognising an Indian teacher as a "People's Hero". A nation that does not recognize the contribution, sacrifices of its teachers & where teacher's are not respected (whatever be their quality) can never aspire to be a future power. Bihar & Uttar Pradesh suffered irreparable damage to the skill sets of its population, their moral/cultural values when they stopped respecting their teacher's starting with the 1970's when people saluted criminal-politician while ridiculing a teacher/MASTER. India today stands at same cross-roads.

I am so happy that Anand is given the due respect from all the corners of the world for his remarkable way of making his life the most by helping the needy,under-privilaged and real-time passionate students.
Hats off to him for carving his own niche.Anand is certainly bringing back some good name to the state too.
I would like to see him not falling into the luring offers of some greedy so-called educational industrialists.I can definitely guess that many a one might have approached him for working with them.
Anand ,plaease continue the great work and i hope the hindu as usual, bring us all the good news like this ever.

Truly inspirational.
When all the parties are looting the country, here is a man who inspite of being poor works to change the lives of the poor.

We need to learn from people like Mr.Anand how good work
can be done rather doing all this acting for media and fooling general
innocent public.

Hats off to Mr.Anand and the likes who really make a difference in
ordinary people's life's.

My best wishes for future!

Awesome job sir. Wish there were more teachers like you. You have probably motivated hundreds if not thousands to do something that just doesn't involve money raking.
