Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on Sunday got a shot in the arm with RJD MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav defending his recent statement against doctors.

Mr. Yadav said the Chief Minister had spoken rightly though Mr. Manjhi had himself retracted from his ‘chopping the hands of doctors’ comment made at the inauguration of a hospital in Motihari last week.

“Being in a constitutional post the Chief Minister should speak in a guarded manner, but what he said about doctors who are irresponsible towards their duty was in the right context,” Mr. Yadav told reporters here.

“The Chief Minister had frankly conveyed his opinion on the faults in the government system on earlier occasions too and this time also he used the Hindi proverb for irresponsible doctors. Mr. Manjhi has the right to suspend or dismiss such doctors.”
